Please rescue the lost data back up hard drive
Help! After re-installed Windows XP, all hard drives do not show up any back up data again. (Illustrations are shown below.)
(Dell Dimension 4600 runs with Windows XP)
(Another un-known brand name computer runs with Windows 2000 Pro)
1. Inserted Windows XP CDROM for installation.
2. Turned OFF computer, physically disconnected 2 backup hard drives, and kept C: drive only still connecting with computer.
3. Turned ON computer, pressed F2. While BIOS was running, then sat OFF both backup hard drives, sat CDROM as the first drive, and sat the permission of system operational installation ON.
4. After Windows XP had been installed, turned OFF computer, physically re-connected both backup hard drives into the original computer.
5. Turned ON computer, pressed F2. While BIOS was running, sat both backup hard drives back to AUTO, sat back C: drive as the first drive, and sat back the permission of system operational installation OFF.
Step 2 and 3 as describing above might be wrong in procedure. So, BIOS could not recognize the address of the old data within all 3 hard drives again, causing “My Computer” only shows out the partial memory volume of the drives individually.
The computer that had been re-installed with Windows XP does not show out any “un-located” region from “Computer Management”. So, all 3 individual wrongful hard drives were placed into another computer which runs Windows 2000 Pro, then the “un-located” regions are showing in “Computer Manager”.
Please let me know how the lost backup data inside these 2 backup drives can be shown out again. Please rescue my fault. The whole thing collapse was caused by one step mistaking.
